My name is Nadunga Elizabeth. I started my own business of selling mandazi and daddies, Ugandan versions of donuts. I press two packets of baking flour every morning to fry the mandazi and daddies. I don’t have a fixed shop for my business, so I prepare the mandazi and daddies at 6.00am in the morning from my home. Later on, I get on the road to supply shops in Bugembe Town – Jinja District. First this was a bit challenging, due to my age and the fact that I am a girl. I wondered what my friends would say if they would see me selling mandazis and daddies. However, after some experience and the earnings I made, I do not regret having started this business. I am able to take care of my daily needs and am saving some money for my University Course. My dream job in the future is to be a lawyer.
